Albert O. Davis felt that the best work he ever composed was Anasazi. The original was composed for full orchestra, but Mr. Davis completed the band arrangement of this work as his last compositional effort. The first movement was released in 2008. This final installment of the four-movement work is Prayer and Processional to Nuvatukn'yova (The Sacred Place).

Anasazi is a representation of the early Native Americans of the Southwest. Originally composed for orchestra and rescored for band by the composer, the work is in no way meant to illustrate Indian culture. Rather, it is a token of respect for a land and a people who are remembered with great admiration for their culture, ambitions, and achievements. They shall not pass this way again.
